Today, April, 24 - was a very touching day. Over ththousand people participated in an event organized by Arboles Pa'l Morro to plant trees in the nearby hill of Cerro de las tres cruces in Medellín's Belén neighborhood. Most of the participants arranged and carried their trees (which they purchased). The volunteers from Arboles Pa´l Morro will be returtning to the site in next few weeks to monitor the condition of planted trees.
I would like to thank and express my great gratitude to all environmental enthusiasts who showed their care for the Earth today.

La Guajira is becoming a popular travel destination in Colombia for its roustic atmosphere and unique environment. Blue water of Carribean Sea make Cabo de la Vela an attractive destination. And similarly, the orange colored soil, interesting landscape and sand dunes make Punta Gallinas a not to be missed stop in the La Guajira region. While the nature offers us its beauty and peaceful setting, the human behavior has a visible impact on the local environment - the most visible being the amount of trash released around, especially the plastic waste. And even though some sites seem to collect the trash, the inconvenient truth is that such trash is being burned nearby - polluting the air second time (the first time during the production of plastic), leaving trash around and threatening local fauna and flora (many animals confuse plastic with food which may be fatal for them). What can we do? Please try to eliminate your plastic use in everyday life. When visiting La Guajira, please take your plastic waste to a nearby big city (Riohacha) or buy drinks in returnable glass bottles (for purchase on sites).
